Purpose:
Many people are hesitant to visit their dentist due to dentophobia or the high cost of treatments, making it even more difficult for them to learn about oral health and manage their conditions. Orofacial pain can be exceptionally excruciating. It is, therefore, important to assess this pain in a timely manner to ensure that appropriate treatment is delivered promptly. Seeking medical help as soon as possible is crucial since the orofacial pain they suffer could also be a symptom of referred pain from other body parts.
Achievements:
We were successfully able to develop an app that users can mentally prepare themselves for their visit, better understand their conditions, and learn more about the conditions they are suspected of having. This helps users to reduce anxiety and stress caused by dental visits and encourages users to seek appropriate treatment by providing a simple and efficient assessment tool of oral health symptoms, our app aims to help reduce oral health disparities and promote more significant oral health equity. Additionally, the app allows users to record their symptoms and pain level each day, which they can bring to their dentist for a more precise and accurate diagnosis.
